Passive houses use the heat given off from the sun's rays, electrical appliances and the occupants. This means that passive homes can manage without a conventional heating system and only incur low energy costs. But a passive house can do even more: it offers you the opportunity of building a high-quality, healthy and sustainable home.

GRIFFNER has been building passive houses for many years.

The multi-award-winning designer house O Sole Mio built in 1998 represented our first step in this direction. Here it has always been our declared objective to harmoniously combine energy-optimised construction and sophisticated architecture. We demonstrate our expertise not only in the construction of passive houses for single-family occupancy but also commercial properties.

Today the heating requirement for our passive homes lies below the 15 kWh/m²a stipulated here. The additional costs incurred are some 10% extra per m² of floor area.
