An award for Juwi
Climate Protection Award for the most energy-efficient office building
The "2008 Climate Protection Award" of Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. (DUH - the German environmental and consumer protection NGO) went to the juwi Group, a leading project development company for renewable energy systems. This decision was mainly prompted by one factor: this year juwi set up its company HQ in the world's most energy-efficient office building.

This exceptional structure, which annually generates more energy than it consumes, was built by GRIFFNER. This trendsetting construction project is however not merely an office building, but also a prime example of the efficient usage of renewable energies.

Setting trends with "Plus" Energy
With a useful floor space of over 8,500 m2, the new building complex, which was inaugurated on 1 July of last year after a construction period of only six months, offers space for some 300 staff.

DUH's panel of judges was particularly impressed by the ecological timber construction and the sensational energy balance, with the building generating more energy than it consumes. "Outstanding and extraordinary" were some of the words they used to describe implementation of such high-tech climate protection and energy efficiency concepts. According to Rainer Baake, the head of DUH, juwi specially deserves this award as the company has pursued an "integrated approach to climate protection" with design and construction of this office complex.
