The most energy-efficient office building
Opening of the juwi complex
This is probably the most energy-efficient office building in the world: The new company HQ of the juwi Group, a leading project development company for renewable energy installations. Some 2,000 m³ of timber was used for this building, which actually generates more energy than it consumes. It was put up in the record time of only six months. The office building in Wörrstadt was inaugurated by Kurt Beck, leader of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate on 1 July.

This office complex, which is made up of three buildings in the first construction phase, offers space for some 300 staff. The modular design offers the opportunity of doubling the workforce to around 600.

The exclusive, energy-optimised building features a total of seven stacked storeys. In addition to a multifunctional hall with canteen, the complex also includes a crèche and various leisure facilities. The complex not only boasts an exemplary ecological design based on wood, a natural building material – like all GriffnerHaus buildings, the entire architecture and fixtures subscribe to the philosophy of saving resources.
