We process personal data you provide to us when you use our website (including all sub-pages) and/or as a customer or supplier (contractual partner) when you provide information, either in the context of an inquiry, a contact or in connection with contracts or events. We process your data for the following purposes:
Legal basis for data processing:
4.1. General information
Cookies are very small text files that enable the recognition of the user and an analysis of their use of our website. Some cookies are very useful because they can improve your experience when you return to a website that you have visited. For example, if you use the same device and browser, cookies remember your preferences, tell us how you use our pages, and make the content displayed more relevant to your personal interests and needs.
In all other cases, we collect and store data in personalized form by setting cookies only after your express consent.
Your IP will be anonymized; this means that no provider data will be tracked.
4.2 Types of cookies
There are different types of cookies, whereby they primarily break-down into three categories:
4.2.1. Functionality cookies (necessary cookies)
These cookies are necessary to enable you to use our website to its full extent. For example, this may involve saving user settings or saving your data when contacting us, during registration, etc. These cookies are used so that you do not have to fill in fields repeatedly. The information collected through functionality cookies relates exclusively to the website you are visiting and no information about your surfing behaviour on other websites is collected.
4.2.2. Performance or web analysis cookies
These cookies collect anonymous information about the usage habits of visitors to a website or app, i.e. without allowing any association with you personally. Such information may include, for example, the time at which the corresponding website is most frequently accessed or which (sub)pages are visited most frequently. This information is summarized and evaluated using performance and web analysis tools (Google Analytics) with the purpose of gaining insight into the use, user-friendliness and functionality of websites and apps and for their continual enhancement. Accordingly, these cookies are important to improving the quality of our products. In addition, these cookies are used to analyse the number of page views and other indicators for the performance of websites or apps.
4.2.3. Third-party cookies
These cookies are not created by the website you are currently visiting, but by another provider (= third-party provider). The third party, usually an advertiser, may use these cookies to track your visits to all pages that display advertising from a third party. The website that is currently being visited has no control over third-party providers or their cookies; they also change – depending on the advertising being displayed.
Some browsers allow cookies from third parties to be specifically blocked. You can find out how this works here: In order to generally avoid the setting of cookies, you must set your browser so that they are only created or rejected with your consent. The methods for managing and deleting cookies vary depending on the browser you use. To find out how to do this in a particular browser, you can use its built-in help function or alternatively visit http://www.aboutcookies.org, which explains step-by-step how to manage and delete cookies in most popular browsers.
However, please note that without cookies certain parts of our website can only be used to a limited extent or not at all.
By giving your explicit consent, you agree to the use of the following cookies & plugins:
5.1. General information
Plugins are extensions for external sites that allow content to be shared with social groups. Embedding plugins means that, with appropriate programming, data is automatically transferred to the provider of the plugin every time the website is accessed, regardless of whether the function is used by clicking on it. With a data protection-friendly default setting, data is only transferred if the plugin is actively clicked on.
5.1.1. Google Analytics
Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide website operators with other services relating to website and Internet use.
We use Google Analytics only with active IP anonymization. The IP address of users within the Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area is shortened by Google. Only in exceptional cases will the IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and shortened there.
You can prevent the data that is generated by cookies about your use of the website from being passed on to Google, and the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
The plugins used on www.griffner.com itself do not track any personalised data.
